Is it a brownie?
Is it a cookie?
A brookie or a brownkie?
Doesn’t matter what you call it – it’s a decedent rich, chocolate, fudgy treat.
This is one of those things that I saw on Pinterest and in a couple of clicks understood how to put this together.
look at how moist and fudgy that brownie is… and how the cookie sits up on it proud as can be
INGREDIENTS
1 package of brownie mix and the accompanying ingredients to make it (eggs, oil, water).
1 bag of Chocolate Chips and all of the accompanying ingredients as listed on the back of the bag to make standard chocolate chip cookies (flour, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and so on.)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together a batch of your favorite brand fudgy brownie mix according to the directions. Pour into a greased 9x9 or 9x13 pan (again according to the directions on the box) and set aside.
NOTE: Using your own brownie recipe is also a great idea. Betty Crocker Brownie Mix brownies are for some reason a treat for me. The only other brownies that I adore are a homemade recipe that includes stove top cooking and requires a significant amount of time. This is one of those occasions where the store-bought brownie mix is okay. [You’ve officially been granted dispensation!]
Mix together a batch of Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies according to the directions on the back of the bag.
Drop by spoonfuls mounds of cookie dough onto the top of the unbaked brownie batter. Press the cookie dough out or push it down in order to make the surface of the brownie-cookie dough batter as even as reasonably possible.
Bake according to the directions on the brownie mix box.
I used a 8x11 pan and baking time for me was approximate 55 minutes.
Brownies-cookies are done when the cookies are golden brown and the brownie is well set. An inserted toothpick with come out clean.
Let them cool before cutting to reduce crumble. They don’t need to cool completely…. besides, you won’t be able to wait that long.
NOTE: There will be chocolate chip cookie dough left over ... make congo squares or cookies. I managed about 2 dozen smallish cookies after using all I needed in the brownies.
THANKS: Risa at Baked Perfection for this incredible creation!
Pour yourself a tall glass of cold milk and ~Enjoy!
