These are the most delicious tortilla strips and they are not nearly as greasy nor as salty as the store bought ones. And best yet… they are quick and easy.
TORTILLA STRIPS
INGREDIENTS
fresh corn tortillas
Pam spray
seasonings (sea salt, fresh ground pepper, chili, cayenne)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
In stacks of 6 or 7, cut tortillas into long, thin strips.
Spray cookie sheets with Pam. (I use my oldest cookie sheets)
Pull apart layers of tortilla and lay on prepared pan.
Spray with Pam cooking spray and season lightly with sea salt, pepper, chili, cayenne, or other favorite flavors.
Bake in oven for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, check to make certain that none are burning. Shake pan to loosen any that might be sticking.
Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown at the edges.
The tortillas will be crispy at the edges, put still tender (a little chewy even) in the middle.
Serve with Tortilla Soup.
