Tonight's dinner included more of the fabulous Japanese rice made in the rice cooker.
I'm sold on the rice cooker.
Tilapia with very simple seasoning in order to enjoy the flavors of the pan asian sauces we picked up at the asian market the other day. I made a little stir fry of bok choy, green onion, mushroom and a few finely chopped peanuts tossed on at the end of the cooking time. I used a small amount of olive oil to saute and added just a small splash of is actually tempura sauce. I chose the tempura sauce over teriyaki because I wanted something with a little more saltiness; sometimes teriyaki tastes too sweet especially on veggies. We also enjoyed fresh made miso soup with tofu, but no sea vegetable. This is Madeleine's favorite thing to make right now and standing on the gray stool, she can stir at the stove safely. She's very proud of herself and has done a nice job helping and learning to make this simple soup. As for the soup itself, all 4 of us enjoyed it, but the girls gobbled the tofu and the guys nibbled it from the soup dish politely. What a light, delicious healthy meal.
